Discipline, loyalty, personal honor, and a willingness to sacrifice one's own life became the key elements of the SS creed. What makes this oath so unusual is that the loyalty was to one person - Adolph Hitler - rather than to a country or constitution. Violence and brutality were the fundamental elements of Hitler's dictatorship. |
